Completion of a Practical Nurse certificate allows students to progress to the Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in 护理 (LPN-BSN) program. The Montrose campus offers rural health clinical opportunities and is designed to expose students to healthcare in a small town atmosphere. The program is approved by the Colorado State Board of 护理 and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate 护理 教育 (CCNE) and provides educational experiences to prepare a professional nurse generalist to practice in a variety of healthcare settings.
The program integrates nursing theory, practice and science with a broad liberal arts education. The program has been developed to prepare a highly competent professional with the education necessary to meet the increasing need for quality healthcare in society today and provides students with the foundation for graduate study in nursing.
Graduates of this program have maintained a 90-100% pass rate on the National Council for Licensure Examination (NCLEX), which is the examination a nurse must pass to obtain a registration license to practice. Graduates of the BSN program are employed nationally in a multitude of fields such as cardiac rehabilitation, critical care, 紧急, 老年, 全球, home-based care, 新生儿, 儿科, public health, 产科, 整形外科, surgical and women's health.
